Get a device with KaiOS 3.0

KaiOS 3.0 is currently available to select models in North America, as of September 2021. 

  • Alcatel GoFlip 4 with T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile 
  • TCL Flip Pro with Verizon, US Cellular
  • Nokia 2760 Flip with TracFone/ Straight Talk

We’ll make updates in our official website and the Help Center as soon as our partners roll out more models globally in coming months.

Provide you with location tracking and navigation. Once it is enabled, the apps and services in your phone can detect your phone’s location and provide you location-based information.

Turn on/off GPS
  1. Go to Settings > Network & Connectivity > Geolocation
  2. Press “ON” or “OFF” to turn on or off your phone’s GPS

Important: Some devices, such as the Alcatel Go Flip 2, do not support system updates. For more information, contact your KaiOS device manufacturer.

Software updates on KaiOS phones are deployed over-the-air (OTA) by device manufacturers. 

To download updates, you must:

  • Be connected to wifi or mobile data
  • Have a valid and correctly inserted SIM card

  1. Go to Settings > Device > Device Information > Software > Software Update.
  2. Press to select and download the update (if available).

Predictive text and autocorrect

KaiOS supports predictive text, but adding words is not currently possible.

KaiOS does not support autocorrect. We are always improving the OS, so this feature may become available in the future.

Type in another language
  1. Go to Menu > Settings > Personalization > Input methods.
  2. Select the input method and the language you want to use.

Share a mobile connection by hotspot or tethering on KaiOS

Use your mobile data to connect another device to the internet using Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB.

 

Set up a hotspot
  1. Open Settings > Network & Connectivity > Internet Sharing.
  2. Select the type of hotspot (tethering) you want to use.
  3. Turn one of the hotspot options on.

Important:

  • You can only turn on one hotspot at a time.
  • Hotspot or tethering might not be available on your device. To confirm, try the steps below. You can also check your device manual or contact the device manufacturer.
Connect to Bluetooth
  1. Open Settings > Network & Connectivity > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on
  2. Turn on Visible to All.  
  3. Go to Nearby Devices. 
  4. Find your Bluetooth device and start pairing.

You can adjust your KaiOS phone to your accessibility needs using the accessibility settings available through Settings > Device > Accessibility. 

Accessibility options may include:

Add an account on KaiOS

Add an account on KaiOS

To find, lock, or erase your data from a KaiOS phone in case it gets lost, create an account on KaiOS. When you create a KaiOS account, information associated with that account automatically syncs with your phone.

To add a KaiOS account, your phone must:

  • Be turned on
  • Have a valid SIM card
  • Be connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi

Add an account 

  1. Turn on your phone and connect it to the internet.
  2. Go to Settings > Account > KaiOS account > Create account.
  3. Check your inbox for a verification email. Click the link in the email to activate your account.
  4. Go to Settings > Account > KaiOS Account > Sign In, or visit this page to sign in. 
  5. Enter the email address or phone number and password registered in Step 2. 
  6. Click Sign In.
  7. Check that Anti-theft is turned on in your device by going to Settings > Account > Anti-theft.
