Make a voice call
  1. Find and select the contact you want to call.
  2. Open a chat 
  3. Press options > voice call > OK
  4. Voice call will begin automatically

  1. Press Accept to answer the call.

WhatsApp announced the sunset of its service on KaiOS platform.

  • For KaiOS-enabled devices purchased and activated before Jun-25-2024, if the user is already logged in WhatsApp, the application will remain functional until early 2025.
  • For devices where WhatsApp has never been logged in or users have logged out, WhatsApp is no longer supported, effective Jun-25-2024.

Steps to update to the latest software version

Software updates on KaiOS phones are deployed over-the-air (OTA) by device manufacturers.

To download updates, you must:

  • Be connected to wifi or mobile data
  • Have a valid and correctly inserted SIM card

Download updates

  1. Go to Settings > Device > Device Information > Software > Software Update.
  2. Press to select and download the update (if available).

Important: Some devices, such as the Alcatel Go Flip 2, do not support system updates. For more information, contact your KaiOS device manufacturer.

Uninstall an app

Uninstall an app

To uninstall an app, click on Options (bottom right corner) > Uninstall.

Pre-installed apps, such as YouTube, cannot be uninstalled.

Clear cache

Clear cache

When you browse the internet, information from websites gets saved in your browser cache. Clearing your cache frees up space in your KaiOS phone and can improve your internet browsing experience.

  1. Long press the Power Off button.
  2. Choose “Clean Up Memory”.

Important: You must have a phone with KaiOS version 2.5.1 or later to clear your browser cache.

You can synchronize the KaiOS email app with your email service to receive email notifications on your device.

  1. Open your email app.
  2. Press Next.
  3. Enter your account information.
  4. Press Next.
  5. Set your display references. Press Next.

If you are using a corporate account, choose Advanced in step 2 to set the account and security settings for your domain.

For Gmail accounts, you might need to enter your Gmail password on the web page. If you have any issues syncing your Gmail account with your KaiOS device, check your security settings and allow KaiOS to access your account.

KaiOS devices support most video and audio formats. You can view the files as soon as you transfer them to your phone’s internal memory or your micro SD card. Formats that KaiOS devices can read include:

    ‘audio/x-midi’: ‘mid’,

Important: Files must be placed in their correct folders to be displayed. We recommend creating a music and a video folder to store your audio and video files respectively. Supported formats may vary per device.
